He has been playing the Didjeridu for over 20 years and apprenticed with Wardaman Aboriginal elder Yidumduma Bill Harney in the making and playing of Didjeridus in Australia. John has studied with master percussionists from North Africa, the Middle East and India and his passion for sacred music has led him to extended studies with Sufi drummers in Morocco. His innovative Didjeridu performance will combine traditional techniques with rhythms from world music traditions and has earned him collaborations with such artists as Omar Faruk Tekbilek and Jonathan Goldman and performances in festivals such as the World Festival of Sacred Music and Earthdance.Ê
